Oh, they're fun. Rope twisted all over the torso - lots of places to tie things back, or things on, or whatever else you want to do. And it's all flexible and movable and not terribly difficult to put on (though it can be time consuming, depending on the complexity).

I learned from SIGMA's SM 101 course a couple years back. Unfortunately they've already done the bondage one this fall - the flogging one is this upcoming Monday.

This is relatively new for me, but I rather enjoy being a top. It's been good for building self-confidence for me and it's also been a good trust-building exercise within our relationship.

Admittedly, P&I are more on the BD side than the SM side and we're fairly vanilla within that crowd. Our social circle includes people of every shade of polyamory and kink--and even though neither of us really identifies as such, we just really like the openness within that group. They're fun ;)

Nothing quite so much fun as going to the check-out at a hardware store w/ rope and assorted recreational hardware to have the check-out girl ask:

"Ummm.... are you going to tie someone up with this?"

and to be able to respond with a "Yes" while smiling wickedly.

(my only regret was not flirting with her more actively to see if she was into BDSM, but I was actually buying things for use on someone I was seeing at the time so I really couldn't)

I did their rope class two years ago (hence knowing how to do a harness). Went once to the play space, but they start everything so late that I'm not often motivated to go (hard to feel erotically charged when you just want to curl up and go to sleep, ya know?)
