Resolution boy

I should take the morning of my commission meetings off more often. ;-p I think I've gotten more commission business done so far today than I have in weeks.

And on a related note, resolution drafting is tons of fun. No, really. But do us all a favor and switch those "Whereas" clauses to "Because" clauses - it sounds less pretentious (I know, shock and horror, an attorney advocating "plain language!").

You mean:
Whereas an ounce of pretention is worth a pound of manure, and
Whereas Commissioner Booty-Butt doesn't like pretention, and
Whereas Commissioner Booty-Butt is drafting resolutions, therefore
Be it Resolved that we start using "because" instead of "whereas" in resolutions issued after this date.
Right?

So:

Because an ounce of pretention is worth a pound of manure, and
Because Commissioner Booty-Butt doesn't like pretention, and
Because Commissioner Booty-Butt is drafting resolutions, therefore
Be it Resolved that we start using "because" instead of "whereas" in resolutions issued after this date.
then. Gotcha
