Second Cups

I'm now sipping on my second attempt at making coffee this morning.

The first attempt ended tragically when, after I poured the coffee into my mug, it was discovered that some bug had crawled in and died in said mug at some point after I last used it.

Much soap was used in the aftermath, as well as many, many words that would make sailors blush.

The second set is, thankfully, bug-free.  And tasty.

Westerners ignore many valuable sources of protein out of sheer prejudice.

While this is true, I think I'm mostly content to let my cultural prejudices rule here. Then again, I think I'd be up for trying bugs slowly, perhaps starting with some ground-up cockroach into some curry paste, which I hear is normal in Thailand. (My Thai grocer says the heads are especially delicious!)

I wouldn't want to eat one that already died, though. I wouldn't know how it died, and if death was caused by injesting some sort of poison, the same could happen to me!

To quote Llwellyn (of David Craig Simpson), "What doesn't kill us, makes us stranger."

You are so hilarious. I love your witty way of expressing yourself. I'm finding it quite entertaining to read your journal. YAY! Anywhoo....toodles.
