The Good Fight

Fighting my caffeine addiction this week. Haven't had any since Friday, trying hard to avoid it entirely. Mornings have been rough, evenings rougher (haven't wanted to go to bed early enough, haven't wanted to get up on time). It'll even out soon, but the first week or two is the worst. And it does take 2-3 months to get all of it out of your system entirely, after which point it's much, much easier to deal with.

Thank heavens for office doors that close and the ability to take a 15-20 minute nap.

I'm at the end stages. I rarely have caffeine anymore and I don't suffer the withdrawals any longer. It will get better soon. :)

Yeah. I've had to wean myself off of nicotine and other stimulants and it's not fun. I feel a lot better. Fortunately for me, I don't care for coffee. I miss tea now and then. That, and Caffeine-Free diet Coke just doesn't taste quite the same as the regular stuff.

I went through some nasty sugar withdrawals too, but that too has gotten a lot better.

What I use to jolt me awake a bit these days is a short session of a First Person Shooter computer game on a handheld.

Of course, it helps that we have them lying around in the office.
