It's good to be in the right place at the right time. Was in Da Boss' office when she got the call that the Big Government Agency Head is releasing everyone at 3 today, pending top-line approval by the Chiefs (CIO, CFO, etc.). Might not mean I get to leave at 3 (our Deputy Lawyer Man is pretty notorious about not letting people go early), but it does mean I can sneak out and get in my weight workout prior to the haircut, as planned. Yay!

It also means that today is a wasted day, work-wise. Ah well.

Nope, changed his mind. 1 pm, not 3 pm, and no top line approval needed. Yay! I am sooooo outta here!

Darnnit... here at State, we're still only getting off at 3pm, though that's better than nothing at all, and it means I can drive Jeff to the airport at 4:00 for his flight home to SF.

I think Secretary Powell should have just given us the whole day off; what are they going to do, fire him again?

Yeah i'm leaving at 3 too... meaning that i can get to the bank to cash my paycheck, then spend it all at the mall before heading to job#2 : )
