Bow Ties

For the folks on my friends list who buy and wear bow ties (the real ones, not those pre-tied things), where do you get yours? Thanks!

Try Nordstroms

Well, I usually go to England to get them, but in this country, I believe that you can get them at Brooks Brothers and Jos. A. Bank. Also, I've bought some before at Filene's Basement.

I'm afraid I have the same experience - I haven't worn them on a regular basis since I lived in England, where they are quite easy to find all the way from second-hand shops to fine men's clothiers. I dunno where to look in the US.

nordstrom or sacks would have them no problem

Any medium- to high-end mens clothier (including those in department stores) should carry them. As previously mentioned, Nordstrom's and Saks Fifth Avenue and Jos. A. Banks all should. Mens Wearhouse does as well (both "real" and pre-tied/clip-on). I know Land's End carries some (catalog and online) as well, which implies that many other online and catalog retailers probably do as well.

I buy all of mine at Brooks Brothers or via Internet from Beau Ties Ltd. (http://www.beautiesltd.com/) which has simply the finest selection anywhere (and they're high-quality, too--I still wear several that I bought from them almost eight years ago.)

Brooks Bros. or Nordies. No one else is acceptable.

Whom will you be tying up? :-P

I think I got mine at Bloomingdale's or Barneys. How gay is that?

Have you tried ebay? While I'm in England, and all those stores are around here, I happened to look on ebay and found zillions of ties. I've bought about 10 or 15 of them and now wear nothing else.

Alternatively, come to London to visit and we can go around and indulge in an orgy of tie-buying (as opposed to tie-dyeing, which one can do anywhere).
