Superpowers

Like most good geeks, I've fantasized about having super powers. And if I'd get to/have to choose one, of late I've narrowed it down to telekenesis.

Mainly I think of this when I'm out on the running trail, like this morning, because I'd love to be able to toss all those damned rocks, stones and tree bits off the path and out of my way so I don't kill myself on them. So even if it were just a few pounds worth of lifting power, I'd take it.

It would come in handy during sex also!

Yea if it had to be only one TK - if you are a strong enough TK you can lift yourselff which is like flying, if you have enough control you can stimulate prostate/vagina/penis through pants anytime someones sees you and you want them to think dirty thoughts. And you can brain any asshole that bugs you from behind if you are in trouble. It's a very versatile power.

Oh oh! Embarrassing obnoxious coworkers but unzipping their fly at social functions/business mettings, or making them spilll coffee on themselves!

Yeah the levels to which the power could be taken.

Tempted to go with pyrokinesis, but I know I would use it irresponsibly.

Instead, I'll take unaided flight. No more waiting for crosswalk signals to turn!

you should read Rising Stars.

It's a graphic novel series (think looooong comic book) by the guy who wrote Babylon 5.

Anyhoo, I'm not going into a long explanation of how these people got their powers but... some of them had seemingly useless powers... like this one girl who could move things with her mind... but only very small things.

Useless eh? Well the CIA didn't think so. They recruited her as an assassin... cos what's smaller than the lil nerve/vessel/whatever that gives oxygen to the brain? ::grin:: One lil pinch to that thing and no one would Ever suspect she'd done anything ::grin::

You should read this thing. I think there are 3 trade paperbacks out there and at least one of em was turned into a novel cos they were planning on making a movie out of it... haven't heard anything about plans for the movie in years though so I'm thinking this brilliant story might have gotten scrapped movie-wise.

I like the ideas people had... and TK does seem most useful, especially if it were strong enough...

Still, I dream of instant teleportation and/or flight. (Either flashy and sexy or just subtle and spooky depending on my mood.)

TK. Absolutely.

Although I wouldn't mind looking like colossus I don't necessarily need the metal expertior so I'll stick with TK.
