Well, since Blogger appears to be having major issues today, I'll stick my run report here and save it for posting to the usual spot later.

03/06/08 a.m. 1:42:46 run in RCP (~>9 mi). Ran down to the middle "alcove" at the Kennedy Center and back. Is now officially the longest run I've ever done (previous record was the Thompson Boat House driveway before the Watergate). Run went well. As usual, just went into automatic pilot and ran along without much variation in pace. Did have to stop once to get something out of my sock and once to readjust my underwear. Cool weather, 60s, humid.

Pacing

Originally I was going to ride down to the Pride Festival thingey downtown like I did last year, but methinks after running 9 miles that might not be a good idea. Getting down there would be easy (all downhill). Getting back would be the bitch.

I'm already going to ride to Lawrence's place (a few minutes only - he's only one neighborhood away) this evening for dinner, so I think the better course for this afternoon would be to take the bus or Metrorail.

One of these days I'll be up to biking 7-14 miles immediately after running 9, but it's not yet that time.

Pride redux

So, to recap the Pride Festival:

1. Many cute men.
2. Many not-so-cute men.
3. Many lesbians (both of the cute and not-so cute variety).
4. Several lost tourists (the hazzards of being the Nation's Capital).
5. Many appreciative looks, including several cruises. The ego is happy. :-)
6. One phone number.
7. One reconnect with a "lost" date (a.k.a. "T") who said it had "been crazy" and that he'd call or otherwise contact me because he'd love to talk.
8. One set of sorry, sore legs from walking the 4 miles from Pride to Dupont to Adams Morgan. Ouch.

So, not bad. Wasn't too terribly sunny, so no sunburn issues like last weekend. Had fun, but probably should have ridden the bike anyway - my feet would feel better than they do had I done so.
