Getting up to a balmy almost-60 today in DC, so no sports coat for for the first time I've been at the new job. I love wearing the coat, mainly because of all the pockets it has on it (for carrying the Palm, the cell, etc., but it's a heavy coat, and far too warm for today's temps. Hopefully the building HVAC will be handling the spring ups and downs well.

Commuting Times
Feb. 20th, 2004 09:21 amWhat a difference 20 minutes makes. The commuters I saw in the Metro station this morning at 10 'til 9 were much more stressed looking than the ones I normally see at about 10 after 9 (I report to work at 9:30). I'm guessing they were running late-ish this morning ("Oh no, gotta get to work, quick, run down the escalator and just miss the train! What am I going to do?! Aaaaaah!"), as compared with my being early (I got in almost 15 minutes early, and I was walking slowly compared to my norm). I think I preferred my version of the morning commute to theirs.
Leaning Towers
Feb. 20th, 2004 11:52 amI do not understand the need of some men to lean on the wall in front of them while they pee at a urinal. Does the sight of their penis so mesmerize them that they can no longer keep their balance? Do they fear the loss of pressure in the bladder will knock them off their feet? Or perhaps the force of the stream is such that they feel a need to lean forward in order to counterbalance it?
Hmmm.
