Okay, now that I'm sober and not posting the minute I walk in the house, an update. :-p
The dinner went well. I learned that I do not need to worry about attempting to join the Foundation (not that I could afford the dues), because one is generally asked only after one is a certain age. An age I am nowhere near, nor will I be near for quite some time. ;-) 'Twas interesting getting looks from some of the presumed members who appeared to be trying to tell if I were there on my own or as a 'date' for a member. The boutaniers did help some with that.
Dinner was very good. The lemon vinaigrette on my salad was perfect - just the right touch of lemon without being overdone. The bean thingum I got in place of the duck was also very good. The weather was perfect - no humidity, no clouds, 70s. We ate in the courtyard of the Freer gallery and marvelled at our good luck over such perfect weather.
Much alcohol was consumed (see previous post *grin*). Christopher danced a little. I begged out with the excuse of the ankle - not willing to risk it yet.
Caught a taxi pretty easily on the way back (was damned near impossible to find one on the way down), then back to rip off the formal clothes and hit the sack.
Today has been nice and lazy, overcast and a slight breeze. Ordered in some Chinese for lunch (the veggies in the bottom drawer were not worthy of a tofu scramble). He headed home and I napped some more, and that's where it is. Off to a play this evening with Lawrence, then back to crash as soon as I get home, I think.
