Rush, rush, rush
May. 12th, 2004 01:52 pmHad training this morning with the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) on the building permit process. Was an interesting look into a previously incomprehendable bureaucracy (at least, incomprehendable to me).
That of course ran late, so I had to skip out of lunch with some of the folks and get my tush back to the office for a 1:30 meeting that I pushed back to 2 so I could eat something (breakfast was a bagel, a banana and a very large cup of decaf) and guzzle down some water since I'm feeling a tad dehydrated. Really need to remember to throw a water bottle into my gym bag from now on.
Anyway, ran for 20 minutes this morning, gradually upping the pace to just under 11 minute miles. My old race pace was about 10 minute miles, so not bad. The heart rate wasn't bad, and this was planned (to up the heart rate this week), so was happy with the workout. No foot pain, no thigh pain. Life is good. :) Strength training tomorrow for the first time, then hopefully I'll actually do my planned bike ride Saturday morning, since I've managed to skip the bike portion the past two weeks. :-p
And now it's off to the next meeting. Whee.
