Days and days

Busy days here at work lately (a change from the leisurely pace I've gotten used to!), with several budget things cranking into high gear. I've gotten to give drafting assistance to the Hill, weigh in on letters to Congressmen, give opinions on whether we can do X, Y, and Z with appropriation accounts X, Y, and Z. Has been fun, but frantic.

I don't know if I sang Nellie McKay's praises on here before, but I highly recommend her debut albumn, Get Away from Me. It's very jazzy, very liberal, moderately political, but very fun. Lyrics like "Mr Bushie says- I'm your president-I have lots to say-hey hey hey- and click goes the remote-there you have my vote." *grin* Gotta love it.

Brrr!

The temps in DC have dipped down into the 70s today and the HVAC system in my office building doesn't seem to have noticed, so I'm freezing now! Brrr!

In other news, I think I finally figured out how to get the "album shuffle" function to work on the iPod. Silly, non-intuitive system.
