As planned, I biked down to the gym, swam for half an hour (worked on gradually increasing the number of lengths I can swim without stopping to rest), cleaned up and headed out to get coffee. Grabbed some Starbucks and wandered over to the Pride festival.
Ran into several folks I knew, got many hugs from boys. :-) Always a nice thing. Got some information from several groups about various and sundry stuff, including several of the athletic groups in town. Will be interesting to see what, if any, follow-up I do there.
lioncub joined me for a second walk-through of the festival and more boys and more hugs. We grabbed some lunch over at Teaism (witnessed where DC gov't shut down at least one food vendor, though for license or health reasons we were unable to tell), wandered over to Apartment Zero to look at chairs (I want this one for my reading chair), then biked home. The hill up 13th was, as always, a killer, but we made it. Showed
lioncub where Columbia Heights Coffee is located and got some whole bean coffee from them so I can feed the addiction in the morning at home. Whee.
Altogether a good day thus far. No plans for the evening, so will likely stay in and cook something up. Should go see if there's anything in the cabinet to whip up or if I'll have to go grocery shopping...
