Meeting Zen
Jun. 29th, 2004 08:31 pmIf no one showed up to a meeting, would it really matter?
Anyway, so no one showed up to the planned "Executive Committee Meeting" for my commission tonight. Well, not true, I was there, and another guy showed up late and called me while I was down the street having sorbet. Whee. And it was good sorbet, too. Going to have to drag
lioncub and assorted others down there, now that I know it's good. :-) I love my (upper middle class, as I overheard a woman describe it this evening at the shop) 'hood.
We got to indict a homicide case today. That sucked. Accident scene photos (none of the deceased, thank heavens), etc. Yuck. There is no joy in such a thing, knowing that two lives, two families (victim and defendant) have been destroyed by this. Yuck.
In other news, my swim workout went very well this morning. I practiced breathing on both sides, and "active rest" (doing another stroke to "rest" between freestyle lengths, like a backstroke). Enjoyed it thoroughly, and probably got in more actual exercise than in my previous 20 minute swim workouts. Fun. :-)
So, now is time to write to the commissioners and try not to be too big of a smartass when I "thank" them for not showing up tonight. Whee.
