Snack attack/Running
Aug. 30th, 2004 12:13 pmOne of the joys and frustrations of exercising, but also wanting to lose a little bit of excess fat, is trying to balance the need for calories to recover with the desire to go overboard into excess calorie-land. I did have breakfast, and I had a banana around 10:15 or so here at the office, but I could not make it until my 1 pm lunch time (the peanut butter cups, which I can't eat because of the milk, were getting a tad too tempting and my stomach doesn't need that), so had to run and grab a (far too fatty) snack. Ate half of the bag, left the rest for another day.
The cause was a lovely run this morning, during which I stayed within the zone I wanted (for the most part) for the usual 5k course. Am starting to pay better attention to my form there, too. Posture is so much fun. ;) With hopes of doing a sprint-distance tri in the spring I've got the distance down, now I want a faster pace than the plodding 12 minute miles I'm currently doing, so will be adding some speedwork to the mix soon.
