Credit Updates
Oct. 29th, 2004 11:03 amIn order to update my address and name (to get the correct roman numeral back on there) I need to send in my driver's license. That'll take care of both, since it has the proper name and address on it. Cool. I can do that. In fact, the DL is already copied and a letter written and ready to go out in tomorrow's mail when I get home and get a stamp.
Then we got to the missing credit accounts (which, now that I look more carefully at the report in front of me, is all of my debts - the student loans listed are ones that were sold to other companies for processing and so show a $0.00 balance).
Basically they said that I had to contact my creditors and find out why they're not reporting anything to Equifax. This from a company that had to ask me about these same "missing" accounts last night in order to confirm my identity and give me access to the credit report in the first place! I know I talked to the woman last night about at least three of my four cards (balance, holder, etc.) in order to prove I was who I said I was. Now you'd think that if they had the information in one place, it would be in another place. Evidently not. That or they were looking at a different agency's information to verify my place in their own system. Either way, that's not kosher with me.
I am sooo not impressed thus far by the credit agencies...
