"That proves that you are unusual," returned the Scarecrow. "and I am convinced that the only people worthy of consideration in this world are the unusual ones. For the common folk are like the leaves of a tree, and live and die unnoticed."
The Marvelous Land of Oz, L. Frank Baum, p. 188, 1904.

After seeing yet another blogthings quiz this morning that has managed to fuck up my friends list, I took a gander at their coding, along with [livejournal.com profile] urban_bohemian. Messy, messy, messy.

There are DIV tags that aren't needed. They open up TRs and TDs and forget to close them, or close them improperly. That's what's fucking up the view - their bad HTML/XHTML coding. And if even I can see such things with my very limited HTML skills, you know it's bad. You'd think a service that caters to a community would try not to do things to piss off said community through sloppy work, but hey, Rule #2 - People Are Stupid.

I'd suggest that someone do a denial of service attack against them, but since that's quite illegal, I shan't. ;-p

A speech given by Larry Kramer --->

THE TRAGEDY OF TODAY'S GAYS An address to the gay community By Larry
Kramer

(A speech made at Cooper Union, New York on Sunday, November 7, 2004, presented by HIV Forum in conjunction with NYU's Office of LGBT Student Services, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, Callen-Lorde, and the Gill Foundation.)

I think this has been the most difficult speech I have ever had to write and to deliver. It is a long speech. I pray you will bear with me until its end.

It is an attempt to give you some idea of who and what we are up against. It is also an attempt to discuss our ability to deal with these.

I recently learned about two dear friends, both exceptionally smart and talented and each in his own way a leader of our community. One, in his middle age, has sero-converted. The other, in his middle-age, has become hooked on crystal meth. Both of them are here with us tonight.

I love being gay. I love gay people. I think we're better than other people. I really do. I think we're smarter and more talented and more aware and I do, I do, I totally do. And I think we're more tuned in to what's happening, tuned into the moment, tuned into our emotions, and other people's emotions, and we're better friends. I really do think all these things. )

Got up late, read some in the paper, putzed, chatted online, teased boys on Manhunt.net, spoke with the parental units about their upcoming houselessness (they're buying a motor home, selling the house, and travelling the country come June-ish when Mom follows Dad into retirement), showered, Metro'd to the gym to swim for 1/2 an hour, bussed home, spoke with friends about dinner, watched another episode of Andromeda while eating lunch, teased more boys on manhunt.net, napped for an hour, confirmed dinner plans with friend, now running off to the aforementioned dinner plans. :-)
