Mernin'

Swam for a little over half an hour this morning, a slight increase in the time I spend in the pool (normally it's 20-25 minutes). Took a bit to get into stride, but once I did it went fine. Did a 200 yd this morning for the hell of it, as well as one fast 50 (shaved about 15 seconds off my normal swim pace for that distance). Was fun.

Bagel grabbed on the way in, as well as some fruit. Yay for having peanut butter in the office already, too (everything bagel and peanut butter - yum!). Also remembered to bring the extra measuring cup in so I have something with which to measure stuff. Nothing quite like paying someone to be a fascist with your diet. ;-p It's not a bad thing, mind you, but it does take some getting used to.

Three packages off my desk this morning (hooray!). Have to remember to be more critical in my reading of other offices' work, much like my fellow attorneys here. A skill to work on, I believe. I wonder if they'd send me to an editing course?

Grey, icky, blah day outside, and it even seems to be infecting the building. Everyone's subdued, like the quiet before a storm.

Me, I just want a nap. I took an early lunch (noon, as opposed to 1pm, when I normally take lunch) because I had a one o'clock meeting that has been postponed until later this afternoon, and now I'm all ready for a food coma (and I didn't even eat that much!). It's also warm in my office, which is probably not helping the desire to nap (warm puppy syndrome - full stomach + warm environment = nap time).

That and I'm craving chocolate. Might be time to break out the cashews, since there's no chocolate in the office (that I can eat). Hmm...

Worker stabbed inside Agriculture Department

Which only goes to show that any system of security has holes.

Laundry

On what is sure to be billed as the warmest evening of the month (it's 60-odd degrees outside, and humid), I did laundry. Every piece of clothing I own, save what is on my back, is now clean, as are all the sheets and towels, and my exercise wear. Whee. It would've been done before 10 but one of the washers didn't close all the way and I didn't see that until I came down to switch them. No matter, is all done. For the next week and a half to two weeks.

I need a houseboy...
