Normalcy

Back to normal temps today. Hooray, can put the uber-coat back in the closet.

After last night's post I made major dents in the shopping. Yay for Amazon. Also yay for Petco since I can order the cats' litter and food there and not have to go to the brick 'n mortar (the shipping cost is balanced out by the savings on tax and taxi). Now I just need to sign up for Peapod and I'd never have to leave the apartment. ;-)

The Internets, They Be Down

A water main break here in DC, likely fron yesterday's unseasonably cold temps, has killed the net connection to my office building, so I'll be off-line until they can get it fixed. Thank heavens for paid accounts and email posts via cell phone. ;-)

The Internets, They Are Up

It seems we've gotten back some connectivity to the 'net, so I can actually do work that involves research now. I mean, I had to actually go to the library and look up a case in a book this morning! [insert look of mock-horror]

(and yes, I know I'm going to get smacked by my resident librarian for that one)

Slowish day. Got a couple things out, and now crunching on one last thing before I'm outta here until the new year. I love that not only do I actually have leave, but the office will actually let me take it. Yay!

Speaking of leave, are all the folks I know in Boston going to be there for the week of the MLK holiday? I'm thinking of escaping DC since that's also the inauguration week and I really don't want to deal with all the crazy folks who'll be in town for that. Lemme know. :)

Haven't quite finished reading the article, but I love this latest Talking Points article on GOP donors in the Washington Post. About 2/3 of the way down the page they start talking about some obscenity prosecutions where the defendants went out and learned how many "adult" films were ordered, sold, rented, etc. in the county/city where the trials were talking place, and the numbers were pretty high. :) I love it.
