Date: 2004-02-13 08:10 am (UTC)Being a redhead, I have ever so soft skin and all, and I am also prone to having allergic reactions to things (like fake strawberry flavoring, certain food dyes, etc). Well, I work for one company which had a weekly team meeting every Monday. Every Monday, Jay, this older guy would be there and he used so much cologne that the whole room was scented. It was about three weekly meetings in that I found out I was allergice to his cologne. We would be sitting in the SMALL closed conference room and about 1/2 hour into the meeting, I would be scratching, coughing, and people were pointing out these red blotches all over my hands and face. I started to break out in hives but it didn't stop. I literally had to go to the ER for treatment. Suddenly I found myself on a hospital bed, clothes stripped, HUGE HUGE hives everywhere (and on a redhead, with smooth white skin, these things can be VERY VERY BRIGHT RED) and then nurses and doctors putting IV's of eppy in me, benedryl, and other stuff. Of course, that all knocked me out for the day and I ended up home.
After the 3rd week, it was the ER doctor that said, "Brian, what are you doing on Monday mornings that is different. You have been here the past 3 weeks for treatment, all on Monday mornings". That's how it was discoverd!
I was the next day that Jay learned the expression "A little dab will do ya!"
