Okay, so I was half-out of this morning and not able to concentrate on work, so I checked some sites once more about dumping my AT&T Wireless account and getting something else less expensive than the $70-odd I'm paying now.
Verizon had pretty much nothing under $59.99 for a basic plan (ouch), and most that looked comparable to what I had now were more like $79.99 or so (double ouch).
With T-Mobile, on the other hand, I can get more than a sufficient number of minutes, picture stuff, txt msgs, etc. for about $20 less per month than I'm paying now (mid-$50s). And I'm not sure it wouldn't be worth just sucking up the $0.25 per picture email thing anyway and cutting out that automatic charge for the included 20 emails a month (I don't see using it that often, but that can be revisited if need be).
So, just have to pick out a phone and get down to the store sometime this weekend, I think, and switch over. Buh-bye, AT&T! I'll miss being able to get calls in the Metro tunnels, but you know, I don't use that feature often enough to justify staying with the higher-priced plan.
