Slogging Through

I am at the point with Zelda: Twilight Princess where I just want the game to fucking well be over and done with. I’m not even really trying to play it any more, I’m just following a game guide to get through it. Nowhere near as fun as Bioshock or Mass Effect (both of which I was able to follow, without the need for a guide, to a successful end). This game has made me cranky from the first, and I will glad when it is done and over with.

And no, stopping is not an option, I want to see the bloody ending at this point. But there better not be any more fucking fishing. If I have to fish in this game one more time I shall kill someone.

I really enjoyed TP, and finished it shortly after it came out. I found myself needing to consult message boards, because the fishing instructions are just flat out incorrect. Having been only forced to fish that one time, though, it was a minor complaint. What I found I enjoyed the most were the boss battles, which were more than just a stronger basic enemy you needed to strafe around and then smack. (A complaint I have with many games these days.)

How far are you that it's become such a slog?

Just done with the temple of time. It's the whole "run here, run there, run back there for the 5th time" thing that's driving me nuts.

that's a consistent review I've heard. The game is too bloody long. It's also lopsided too long, because the crappy stuff you wanna just get through is at the beginning, I've heard the game gets better as you get closer to the end.

It's all hearsay, I wasn't able to last 15 minutes into it. It sure ain't no Ocarina of Time.

It's a shame, because I really enjoyed Phantom Hourglass. There was much less of the linear stuff and more ability to explore and enjoy the world.

I can't stand the fishing either. I stopped playing after the first time I had to fish and haven't gone back yet. After Super Mario Galaxy and/or Super Smash Bros. Melee, maybe I'll go back.
