This 'n That

'Twas a relatively busy week at work. Year end audit stuff to do, a big document to give a thorough looking through, and various little things that popped up. The big document had my least favorite thing - outdated (and sometimes incorrect) references. Long story short, unless they clearly say otherwise general provisions in appropriations acts are assumed to only be in effect for the fiscal year that the act covers. And the doc had a couple references to one of those acts that was nearly a decade out of date, plus the language had changed in the interim. Yay. I suspect we need to set up a source document for this thing, with internal notes about where various things come from and how often they need to be double checked. A longer term project, I think.
Ran this morning, in the rain. I'm coming to like a wet run, if only because I encounter fewer humans the way. Biked some in the trainer in the garage yesterday afternoon, after a replacement part arrived for the tri bike. Just 20-odd minutes (enough to watch an episode of The Legend of Korra), mostly to try out the new part and because I just felt the need to move. Definitely aware that I haven't biked in a while, as I'm feeling a little tighter today. Nothing some good body work in the morning won't work out. And maybe some tonight before bed.
Gave Amazon a break (in exchange for some digital credits), and told them to ship the Prime day stuff sometime next week. None of it was needed immediately, so I don't mind the wait. At least it's not like the bad old days when you'd call in or mail off a catalog order, and sometime a month or more later you might get your stuff. Do not miss that in the least. Well, partially untrue, I did enjoy calling the ladies at L.L.Bean, if only to hear their nice Mainer accents. As a child of the south, Maine and Boston accents still bring a smile to my face.
No plans for the weekend, past catching up on some reading.
