You never know

Today has been wet, wet, wet here, with rain on and off, but mostly on, with degrees of intensity from mist to gully-washer. After putzing around a bunch this morning I decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and do my planned run, because as I used to tell my triathletes you never know what the weather will be like on race day, so train in all of it. Got dressed in a lull (no rain), got outside as it started to drizzle again, and it got progressively more intense as the run went along, with the last 2/3 of a mile or so getting soaked thoroughly by hard rain. But, with the much cooler temperatures, both from the air temps and the cool rain, it actually went better than many recent runs, and I finished almost a minute earlier than usual. So all in all a good run.
Putzing through work. This was another day where I'm reminded that I'm no longer at the Big Gubm'nt Agency and that people at the Small Gubm'nt Agency aren't automatically going to challenge anything I say and/or immediately try to get me overruled by my boss because they don't the result. I swear it's feels almost like a form of PTSD how I still end up bracing myself to fight with the client when I give advice, and when that doesn't happen any more I'm left with all this adrenaline that doesn't have anywhere to go.
