Starting last November, the husband and I started updating various electronic devices. The final piece of that arrived this morning, a new mac laptop, because the mid-2014 workhorse I had been using finally decided it was too old to accept the latest and greatest version of MacOS. After several hours of transferring files and programs from one machine to the next, and of course a mandatory update to the MacOS on the new one, all appears to be in order. The screen is slightly larger (14" versus 13"), and I thought I was going to need to increase the font size (yay aging), but adjusting the brightness level up took care of that. There's definitely more on the screen real estate, in that I can see more in menus, etc.
And I was quite impressed with how seamless the new migration process was (since I last did this back in 2014). Other than the time to transfer the data, once I got in everything was as I left it on the old machine, down to already being logged into web sites like LJ. I was all set to have to log back into everything, but no, was all good already. Nice.
So hopefully this is the last of the big electronics purchases for a while. *fingers crossed*
