Am at a conference at work this week. No email, no phone, no messages, no one bugging me for deadlines (well, occasional emergency deadlines, but otherwise no real deadlines). It's soooooo nice to be there, but not be there, and be learning a new subject area (procurement - can we say "trying to remember Contract Law from 1st semester of law school way back in 1994?").

virtualexile pick out a nice french press, coffee grinder and some decaf (flavored, but at least he got normal stuff for the other things *grin*). Dinner, bus ride home after some brief hugs and chat with

lioncub, who happened to be around the corner from the bus stop when he called. Caught up on email and LJ, now it's time for sleep!

7 seconds in the grinder, transfer to the french press.

Add enough hot water to cover the grinds at the bottom, let sit for a few moments to let the grinds expand, then pour in the water up to the limit of your press, let sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, plunge it down and pour.

My morning protein shake is quick and simple. 8 ounces of soymilk (or liquid d'jour) in the blender, turn it on, drop in a scoop of protein powder, turn off blender & pour. Also covers 100% of most vitamins and minerals, and doesn't taste like battery acid ;)

I don't mind the smell, though.

One block tofu, one banana, one cup fruit juice (cranberry is good), one cup frozen berries, blend and pour. Maybe add some protein powder if you want some. Very yummy. :)

I know it makes me a bad vegan, but tofu is slimy, and tasteless. And wasn't there some study or other that "proved" that eating too much tofu leads to alsheimers?
