Bus Ride

Got to work on time this morning, thanks to the Bus Driver From Hell.

Got to the stop, no buses (schedule, schmedule!). Well, several that I couldn't take to work came, but no S2 buses. So, finally a pack of buses comes, take the second one back (less crowded - more seats), and the ride starts out calmly enough.

Then we realize this driver likes to use her horn. A lot.

Cool.

As we get to the lower part of 16th Street (below U St.), she decides, "Enough of travelling in the pack, I'm going to break free!" And break free she did. We flew down lower 16th, passing 5 buses or so on the way down, dropping people off then flying to the next stop.

Made going around the few corners we have pretty fun.

More horn screeches, a couple near misses and a few corners later, I got to the bus stop in plenty of time to walk the 5 blocks to work and actually make it there by 9 a.m.

I want her on my morning route more often. ;-

You kidding? They can't fire her! She works for a quasi-governmental agency!

Sure they can! They fired that one driver for failing to stop when he dragged that idiot poor woman who got stuck in the MetroRail car door.

Yeah, she was good. Slammed us around a bit, but she was cool.

And yes, of course it's Madonna. ;)
