Ran for the first time in a little over a week (swam three times last week, but no running). Could've used a tad more sleep than I got, but am doing okay. Weights after work today at the Y. Whee.

Relatively lazy weekend. Again, coulda used more sleep, but naps were elusive at best, and actual sleep was impared Friday night (new person in the bed with me), Saturday (restless), and Sunday (the usual Sunday restlessness). Didn't do all that much past the swim yesterday and dinner out with Lawrence that evening. [livejournal.com profile] lioncub got in okay from seeing his family for Thanksgiving, and is zipping out once more this evening, this time to Miami through Thursday evening. He got an extra litter box for the beasties since we found they had peed in at least one of the two containers we brought in from the balcony (which I promptly put right back outside once I discovered what they'd done), so now they have boxes on both sides of the apartment (and he's conveniently absent now that it's in place, leaving me with two boxes to empty in his absence... hmmm... *grin*).

Life in a nutshell.

Evacuation

Oooh, the reminder for my office's planned evacuation just popped up. Whee.

"Grab an air mask and head for the stairs! Meet us at the playground!"

First one in the ten months I've been here (two months to go!), so this should be interesting. I'm on the 6th floor, but the stairwells are pretty darned big, so I'm hoping it won't be quite as bad as my last building (8th floor, tiny stairwells, slow people).

Anyway, see y'all after the (planned) break.

Well, that was easy. In and out in less than 20 minutes. Much better than the last Big Government Agency. Hell, my screen saver didn't even have a chance to kick in while we were gone.

Security Guard: Hello, Woodner Front Desk.
[livejournal.com profile] legalmoose: Hi, is there a fire in the building? There's a smoke smell up here on the 12th floor, though no visible smoke...
SG: Well, the fire department just arrived, they're checking it out, but they're not evacuating the building yet.
LM: Oh, okay, thanks.

;-p

Not the conversation you want to be having just as you're trying to get to sleep, ya know?

[edit]

Stepped outside, checked with the firemen, it's a trash chute fire, but they appear to have it under control. Whee.
