Got most things up and running, but for some reason it doesn't want to recognize two of the USB devices I've tried hooking into the beastie (my Palm cradle and an IR device I have), though it does hook up the Logitech mouse just fine. Oy. Something to mess with later. Right now I'm letting the battery calibrate by running it into the ground, per their instructions. Whee.

I downloaded and installed Firefox. Not because I have anything against Safari (I haven't even opened IE yet), but because there was no "status bar" at the bottom of the Safari screen, and I'm used to being able to see what a link my mouse is hovering over is going to link to before I have to click on it. Couldn't see any way to get that , easily, within Safari, so in comes the Firefox.
$10 Well Spent
Dec. 28th, 2004 06:36 pmGave up on trying to convert my Outlook crap over by hand and plopped down $10 to Little Machines for their Outlook 2 Mac program. Best $10 I've spent on a computer in a while. It converted all my email, all my contacts and all the calendar entries over into Mac-readable formats which came in like a breeze. You'd think Apple would license this thing for folks to switch over. No matter, was more than happy to pay it to do away with the headache that was trying to get info moved over to the iBook.
Major headache. Tried to nap, no go there 'cause of coughing fits when I laid down. Ugh. I really, really, really hate head colds. The good (?) news is that it will likely die sometime over the weekend, just in time to go to work. :-p
