Legos and Video Calls
Mar. 28th, 2021 10:13 pmI'll get some pictures tomorrow when we have better light, but I made the Lego Bonzai Tree for my office this afternoon. Pink blossoms for spring, naturally. They did a good job with the set, and with the changeable leaves - you just pull off four things and swap in the other leaf set, and done (both sets of leaves are made and ready to swap). Very fun. And they had some kicking pictures of different custom leaf sets that other creators made using the tree base. Quite fun. Fits nicely on the bookshelf, though I think I'm going to rearrange some things tomorrow so it's more prominent while on video calls.
That's one thing that has surprised me about this past year, how much I think about video calling. Mind you, I'm not a fan of either phone or video calls - I'd much rather see someone in person - but that's the way that work is going, at least for me and my agency. So I've been rearranging my shelves in my office to be more video friendly. There are still toys and geeky stuff, this is my office after all, but I'm trying to edit it to look good and not be too distracting. And I definitely prefer shorter hair for myself, and darker, thicker glasses frames. I have both a pair of thin frames, and a pair of thick ones, and I think the thick ones just look better on video. So that'll probably affect how I pick out frames going forward, how they look on video for work. Whee.
