Forgot to mention I witnessed an accident yesterday. This car comes whizzing around the corner of R, turns right on Connecticut, hits a female pedestrian. Pedestrian flies a few feet in the air and forward, starts howling, smacks pavement. I whip out the cell and call 911 immediately. Then witness a cabbie almost hit another pedestrian on the other side of the intersection (the pedestrian there smacked the hood of the cab and yelled at the driver - that's what I would have done, too). Left the intersection, there not being much more I could do, heard the police, fire and ambulance converging from different areas.

No blood, thankfully, but not exactly the way to end my evening. :-
