Derailleur

legalmooseOkay, after futzing with the derailleur for several minutes, doing every adjustment that was supposed to fix the thing, I made the decision to take the bike down to the bike store before I screwed anything up past repair.
Good decision. Seems something in the crank shaft was slowly making it's way out of the shaft, which was causing my shifting issues. Whee. So, $23.25 later (had to get chain lubricant, too), I have a happy bicycle. :)
