In its strongest action to date on the conversion to digital television, the Federal Communications Commission adopted a plan today that will require electronics manufacturers to include digital tuners in all new televisions by 2007.
The ruling will make nearly every TV set currently in use obsolete for receiving broadcast television without the purchase of additional hardware when the digital conversion takes place by the end of 2006
