The writing in #1 is the best, most fluid looking. You'll need the artist to smooth out the computer lines, of course, but that's the nicest one. The others are pretty much there for contrast of the different types of script. Sorry that I only have the four fonts in traditional Chinese. I have the same in simplified, too, but if you even breathe that you're going to get a tattoo in simplified Chinese I shall have to smack you the next time I see you. :-p

Well, sometimes simplified looks pretty cool, but not in the case of the character for bird... esp. not in that shell thing. (I've forgotten a lot of stuff, if I ever learned it...)

But yeah, thank you VERY much. I like #4 too. I shall have to print them out at work tomorrow.

Hm. On a computer screen, I like #2 the best, but #1 is definitely what I'd go for if I had to get a tattoo.

heh

I know there's some politics associated with simplified Chinese and a division between Mainland/Taiwan. Growing up with my parents, though, may have skewed my perceptions. For the longest time, I thought that "foreign born" (in Chinese) was a curse word akin to "fucker." Simplified Chinese always looks like unfinished script to me.
