The perils of poor legislating: Landlord acquitted of animal cruelty charges. This after he took two of his tenant's three cats out while she wasn't home, shot them, and disposed of the bodies in a nearby creek.

The problem, according to the judge, was poor legislating: the legislature failed to define "cruelly kill" with sufficient specificity to make the law enforceable.

Does this mean we have to give proper definitions to "cruel and unusual punishment" as well... BAH! This judge was just too damned lazy to make a judgement. Either that or he's a dog person. =P

That is fucked up! Did he get charged with anything? That was an obvious act of intimidation, like saying "YOU'RE NEXT." If anything, I would sue the asshole for emotional damages.
