Okay, out of 33 signatures gathered, 22 were valid. I need 25 valid ones, so will be back out begging for signatures tonight! :-p

I have a) people who aren't registered; b) people who don't know they aren't registered; c) people who haven't filed a change of address with the BOEE (two of them - how annoying 'cause then I'd only need ONE signature).

I went down to the Board of Elections and Ethics and checked my sigs against the voter roles. They let you do that so you can make sure you're challenge-proof. Once I've filed tomorrow the petitions are put out for challenge for ten days and any citizen may challenge the validity of the petitions on a variety of grounds (see, e.g., Tony William's screwed up campaign). So checking is, as I've found out, a good idea. Oy.

Of course, if you debate someone you can just walk out after 15 minutes. The mayor did....

LOL! Someone else did pick up petition sheets on Friday, so I might have actually have competition, if he files by the deadline tomorrow.

S'okay, is just one more night of gathering, and I've not seen the other person out gathering signatures at all, so who knows if he'll even be filing (and if he does file, I'll be checking his stuff for a possible challenge, too).

Will keep my eyes open for the package. ^_^
