Election update
Sep. 5th, 2002 06:39 pmOkay, a couple of developments today:
1. I went down and checked the 33 signatures I had. Of those, I could confirm 22, and I need 25, so back out to gather signatures.
2. Someone else picked up petition sheets last Friday, so I might have competition.
3. I stood out and got 15 more signatures this evening, so am hoping that of those 15, 3 will be valid. 1/5th of them? Hopefully the 2/3 ratio that stood through the original batch with work there. Better safe than sorry.
You'd think people would know whether they were registered to vote or not. Or would change their voter registration when they move.
And I was shocked at the number of people who said, point blank, "Oh, I don't vote."
Boggles the mind.

Date: 2002-09-05 05:28 pm (UTC)Heh...now that I'm thinking about it, I'd want to ask them something along the lines of "ah, so you must be a completely satisfied citizen. I'm curious - what is your favorite aspect of the government, since clearly you like the way everything is going?"
Of course, I'd probably get smacked.
