Shopping was successful, if more expensive than anticipated (I don't know that I've ever gotten out of Whole Foods/Fresh Fields for under $50).

Cool things found: Large container of vanilla fudge swirl soy "ice cream"; raspberry poland spring water; really yummy looking peaches.

Dangerous thing found: October's Cooking Light (of course, the one right AFTER I decided to kill my subscription) features soup, including one that will be the subject of the next soup night, curried butternut soup. So had to get that, too. Grrr. Further proof that cookbooks/food = Moose porn.

So anyway, was a good dinner at Meiwah, good shopping, and slowly getting the apartment back together. Whee.

YES!

Do you have a cookbook collection which is sometimes just reading material?

Do you have ones specifically bought for the pictures inside?

Were we separated at birth or something?

:-)

Honeybunny (honeymoosey?) - I subscribe to Cooking Light. If you're ever browsing and see a recipe you like, write down the name and issue, and let me know. I'll type it up and e-mail it to you!

Heh...haven't even looked yet. My mail's being forwarded, so the latest issue got plopped in my mail slot this morning and I got as far as seeing which magazine it was, then going back to finish my tea. :)

Oh hell, now I had to go and look at it. It does look yummy, although I admit to not ever having tried butternut squash. I'd prolly make it with sweet potatoes, because I'm a wuss. OOH! I have some extra-sharp Cheddar that I bought in Tillamook when I was there...maybe I want to make this now.

And oh, I just saw the scone recipe beside it. I'm drooling now. I love scones.
