Lessons learned from the first Soup Night:
1. 6:30 is too early as a starting time, even knowing we'd be functioning on queer time. 7 or 7:15 would work better. Some people actually showed up at the starting time, or close to, and we all started to get hungry before many of the other guests showed up. :-p
2. Chinet bowls have a time limit built in, thereby encouraging quick soup consumption. LOL! Will get plastic bowls for the next time. *grin*
3. The crowd was a good relaxed one, the same invites will be sent out next time (and of course LJ friends are invited as well!).
4. When lacking entertainment, throw a faux mouse to the cats.
5. Having a TV show as part of the entertainment was nice, but perhaps should not be the "second focus" of the gathering.
6. The soup went over really well, so now the pressure is on for the next batch (though I'm still leaning toward the curried butternut soup in this month's Cooking Light magazine).
Anything attendees would want to add to this?
