Fiscal Limitations
Oct. 8th, 2002 04:17 pmOkay, boys and girls, we're over a week into the fiscal year and your voting representatives in Congress haven't yet passed a single appropriations bill! Instead, as they have every year for ages now, they continue to give us "continuing resolutions" which fund the federal government at the previous year's level, don't take into account any new programs that are now on hold, and which hold up important grant monies needed for state and local organizations to continue operations.
And what's the penalty for this surly behavior, refusing to do their job on time year in and year out? The keep getting re-elected! I daresay if I refused to complete a major part of my job on time every year, I'd at least get reprimanded, not to mention getting fire
