Let's see. In the past 24 hours I have:

Shattered one of lioncub's bowls. Big glass bowl. Was full of soup at the time, and I dropped it on the way from the cabinet to the microwave. Big mess, glass and soup everywhere. Lovely (shallow) slice on my left thumb, and small splinter on the right hand which I pulled out pretty easily.

We went and had Thai food after the cleanup.

Came into work and was instantly buried in the project from hell.

Got referred to a Big Secret Government Agency job by a friend, and am actually filling out the paperwork for it (easy online application - scary). The truly frightening part of filling out these applications (I'm doing several for several agencies) is the number of times I'm being asked for my high school information, and/or my college GPA. Um, hello, I have two graduate degrees, why do you need to know where I went to high school? :-p But, as these will be rejected without the proper information, I comply.

Biked to work in the lovely cool autumn air.

Got told I get to travel to Columbia, SC the last week of October, and to Mobile, AL the week after that for work.

While what happened was pretty bad, I'm glad my initial reading was way, way off.

I've been to Columbia before--it's a gorgeous old city. Don't know if you'll have a chance to wander around it too much, but the old quarter's fantastic.

You couldn't pay me to live in South Carolina, mind you. :)
