Nov. 17th, 2002 01:11 pmHeaded out to see the second Harry Potter film last night (liked it). After that
lioncub and I wandered down to Remingtons to meet friends. Ran into Brian and his hubby, as well as
my evil twin.
Got into a discussion about boots (in the context of dancing - yes, I can two-step). As a vegan, I won't buy leather boots - there are alternatives to leather so I don't need to buy real leather. My nonleather dress shoes are great, and people can't tell their not leather unless I tell them.
(favorite note - my friend Matt asked one of the dance instructors about nonleather boots and he responded, "Sure, there are plenty of alternatives. Ostrich, snake, crocodile..." I just put my head in my hands and sighed.)
But finding nonleather cowboy, or western-style boots is not something terribly easy, it seems. One site had women's styles only. Another had something that was, um, tasteless, even for a western-style boot.
Looks like I may stick with my dress shoes for dancing.
