*snorty laugh*
Feb. 27th, 2003 09:18 pmSo, my fellow commissioner was talking to his insurance company and they suggested he "upgrade" to include personal liability coverage. He said yes, so they were going through the criteria.
The young lady asked about felony convictions, outstanding warrants, current indictments, subject to any current or recent litigation. He answered in the negative to all of these. Then she asked if he were an elected official. Being a commissioner, he answered yes, indeed he was.
"Well, I'm sorry sir, we can't cover you," quoth the young lady.
My friend replied, "You mean to tell me that elected officials are in the same category as convicted felons for your underwriting purposes?"
The young lady replied that she was terribly sorry, and she's sure they didn't mean it that way, but yes, indeed we are.
