"I helped make this happen"

legalmooseJust spent an hour walking around in the cold on our neighborhood Orange Hat Patrol... with the Mayor of the District of Columbia.
For those of you not familiar with DC, that's the equivalent of having the governor of your state come spend an hour walking around with you, no press, no (major crowd of) flunkies, about your neighborhood's problems.
Was a very, very good walk, despite the low-to-mid 30's (F) temperatures out. Got promises from him on policing, getting our lights fixed, etc. One of those times when it feels good to be involved with government, to be able to say, "I helped make this happen."
