Plans crushed

What I wanted to do tonight was do my laundry and some writing.

What I did tonight was raise my bloodpressure and silently scream in front of the TV.

Started two loads of laundry, 'cause that was all that was on my card (we moved to a card system instead of quarters). Went to add more money on my card. No go, the machine won't take my money, or anyone else's money (several tried). Go to the other room, try the machine. That one's down too. So, of five loads in washers, two got washed and not enough on the card to even dry one of them.

To say I was pissed would be a great understatement.

The damned things had better be fixed tomorrow because I have to leave Wednesday and I'd really like not to leave a soaking wet load of sheets, towels, underwear and socks in my living room for more than the 24 hours they'll be there before I get home tomorrow and can wash them (over again).

We have those card thingies where we live. I can never remember how much we have on the darn card, and the box to add more money is in the leasing office, which is only open until 5:30. Not very convenient. At least having the cards prevents vandalism to the washing machines. There have been times where people had broken into practially all the washers and dryers, and doing laundry on site was impossible. We own a washer and dryer, but have no hook-ups in our apartment. I can't wait until we can move into a place that has the plumbing, etc. for them.

P.S. I like your new pics. The longer hair looks nice on you.

I miss having a w/d combo at home - was definitely the way to go!

The machines we have are in the laundry rooms, but if neither is working (like tonight) you're screwed.

One of the (few) things I liked about my last apartment was the in-unit laundry room, complete with washer and dryer. They weren't the best machines, but they were there anytime I needed them.

One of the things I *love* about the house is that we had to buy our own washer and dryer, and we got really cool machines (Kenmore Elite HE3t washer, matching dryer, they are the bombdiggity of laundry appliances).

So...come out to San Jose, bring lots of laundry, and we'll wash it for you. ;)
