Riding in the dark
Jul. 5th, 2003 12:20 amRode down to
5of5's place and met he and
notahilbilly and our friend R and C for fireworks. Because
5of5 lives on the other side of the National Mall from where I do, I got to go through the security checkpoint. I'm glad I wore biking clothes - was easy to prove I had nothing in my pockets. ;-)
The fireworks were fun. No peace symbols like last year, but I suppose that's to be expected. They probably fired the company that did them last year because of those.
Rode home afterward. Was uneventful save one idiot who decided to honk the horn and yell at me to "get off the road" on Piney Branch. I screamed back a "Fuck You!" which I hope was heard. I stopped behind my building and carried the bike up the 6 stories rather than risk another driver.
So, now time to do some yoga to stretch out from the ride and get myself to sleep.
