Okay, after many hours and a couple x-rays later I have discovered that nothing is broken (there was a question because of the soreness in my upper leg) and been given a high dose of naprosyn (500mg) twice a day, as well as bandages to wrap up the arm.
Which, of course, now itches since I can't get at it to scratch. :-p
All of which calls into question the 1/2 marathon at the end of the month. Am not best pleased, but if I can't, I can't. In the meantime I'm hoping the drugs make me loopy so I can go home again. ;-)

Having said that, I am reminded of the time that I sprained an ankle about 10 days before a triathlon that I had been training for months to do. My physical therapist stopped one line short of forbidding me to participate. Having been given an inch, I took a mile. Or rather, I took 1500 meters, 40 km and 10 km. I finished with no lasting ill effects; the ankle was sort, but the event did not (apparently) slow down the healing process.
Nevertheless, do as I say, not as I do.

Date: 2003-08-05 11:51 am (UTC)I'm all about discretion. Did the dumb thing once with my ankle (i.e., walked around on it all day after spraining it) and that was enough to teach me not to be stoopid.
Ah, well, will be a nice trip home anyway. :) I have friends running it; I can go cheer. Unless of course it feels better after the week of naprosyn, in which case, training here I come. *grin*
