Nov. 17th, 2003 10:30 pmI didn't write about it on Friday when this happened, but I was in too much shock, I think, to process it and get it down in print.
Long story short, my new job, which was supposed to start on December 1st, is now, at the least, postponed until December 15th, and might possibly not happen at all, depending on how good the office is at lobbying. More details are over on my other site.
It's so hard not to want to rip a certain capitol hill staffer's balls off and feed them to him slowly as he bleeds.

Date: 2003-11-17 07:39 pm (UTC)Stuff like this is maddening, but it is also pretty common with today's fucked up budget process. Remember that they want to hire you, and that they won't give up without a fight.
I remember my own hiring delays back in 2001, when the first act of the newly inaugurated president was to place a hiring freeze on the entire federal government. Not fun. But it didn't last, and your hiring freeze will thaw also.
Hang in there! Hello Kitty is on your side!
