Why I love Miss Manners

Dear Miss Manners: When served a margarita with salt and a straw, how do you get to the salt? I love the straw, but usually remove it rather than lick the glass, then take a sip from the straw. Do you understand my dilemma?

No. People who love to drink out of straws are not old enough to drink alcohol. For those people, Miss Manners believes it's quite enough excitement for them to drive their parents crazy by blowing bubbles in their milk.
