Something to aim for?

I was flipping through the back of the issue of Triathlon magazine I picked up the other day on a lark (since it is my eventual goal to run those one of these days), and there appears to be a relatively small "mountain bike" biathlon (2.2mi run, 10mi bike, 2.2mi run) here in Fairfax county in early November. I think perhaps that's something to aim for, and train for. Cooley.

Cackle, if you want details just ask. There is indeed, and to be honest, my advice would be to skip it. Unless you REALLY know what mountain bike means. I didn't when I foolishly signed up for that race about four years ago.

Lets just say I came home with enough bumps, cuts, scrapes, and bruises to make Jesse Ventura proud.

Hehehehehe. I know it's trail riding, as in dirt, trees, rocks, etc., so yeah, I'd expect to get bumps, cuts, scrapes and bruises. :-) It's listed on Active.com if you search on biathlon and in the area of 20001 zip code (might have to up the search area to 25 miles instead of 10).

Grin, I know, I've done the race. It's some pretty serious trail riding. Of course, the year I did it it rained the night before which involved huge quantities of mud and such. It was quite the adventure.

This was like four years ago. I borrowed one from my roommate at the time. It was an attempt to be butch. ;-)

LOL! An attempt, eh? ;-) I figured it would be a good race for me since that's all I have, a mountain bike, and it's sufficiently far off to train for (three months!).
